Senior Secondary School

Stage 5Classes XI and XII

Choosing a direction

Classes XI and XII are where a student specialises. Three streams run here — Science, Commerce and Humanities — each following the CBSE syllabus and each preparing for the Class 12 examination and what comes after it: JEE, NEET, CUET, or a degree taken elsewhere.

Stream allocation is on record

Science requires 80% in Science and Mathematics at Class 10 with a 60% aggregate. Commerce requires 75% with a 50% aggregate. Humanities requires 60% with a 45% aggregate. Allocation also depends on seats, at the admission committee’s discretion.

English Core is common to all

Every student takes English Core. Beyond that, the combination depends on the stream, and electives such as Computer Science, Informatics Practices or Physical Education depend on demand and faculty availability.

The choice is made once

Stream changes are not permitted after the CBSE registration deadline in Class XI. We would rather a family took longer over the decision than changed it in December.
