Student Code of Conduct

This is what we expect of students themselves — how they behave in class and in the corridor, how they treat property and each other, and what happens when conduct falls below the standard the school sets. It applies on campus, on the way to school, and online where the school community is involved.

01Behaviour and etiquette

Everyday conduct in class, in the corridor and around visitors.

  1. Be punctual, attend regularly, wear the uniform properly, and behave respectfully both inside and outside school.
  2. Stand and greet a teacher when they enter or leave the classroom.
  3. In the absence of a teacher, follow the prefect or monitor appointed to keep order.
  4. Greet visitors and teachers respectfully whenever you meet them.
  5. Take part in physical training and games unless medically unfit or exempted by the Principal.

02Punctuality and the gate

Arrival times, and what happens if you are late.

  1. The school gate closes ten minutes after the school day begins. No entry is permitted after that.
  2. A student who arrives late should report to the class teacher or coordinator.
  3. Three late arrivals result in the student being sent home for the day.

03Gate passes

Leaving the premises during school hours.

  1. No student may leave the school premises without a gate pass signed by the Vice-Principal, Principal or the coordinator of the section.

04Honesty and lost property

Found something that is not yours, or lost something of your own.

  1. If you find something that does not belong to you, hand it to the Principal, Vice-Principal or Coordinator and leave it at the office.
  2. Enquiries about lost items can be made at the school office.

05School property

The buildings, furniture and equipment belong to every student who uses them.

  1. Damage to school property is not tolerated. Disciplinary action will follow, and parents are accountable for the cost of repair or replacement.

06Conduct outside school

A student represents the school on the way to it and after leaving it.

  1. Students are accountable to the school for their conduct both inside and outside school.
  2. Misbehaviour in public, disobedience, objectionable moral conduct and disrespect towards teachers are grounds for dismissal.
  3. Conduct on the way to and from school reflects on the school itself.

07Digital and social media

Online behaviour that involves the school community.

  1. Students may not create WhatsApp groups or similar channels connected with the school, as these frequently lead to trouble.
  2. Action will be taken over social media activity that disrupts the school or targets any teacher, student or member of staff.

08Discipline and dismissal

What the school may do when conduct or progress falls persistently below standard.

  1. The Management reserves the right to dismiss a student who consistently fails to make satisfactory academic progress, or whose conduct disrupts the orderly running of the school.
  2. Firecrackers and objectionable literature are not permitted on campus.
  3. Students arriving by motorcycle or scooter must submit a written undertaking from their parents. The school is not responsible for theft of or damage to vehicles parked outside the campus.
