Middle School
Stage 3Classes VI to VIII
From remembering to reasoning
Classes VI to VIII are where subjects separate and become serious. Science divides into Physics, Chemistry and Biology, Social Science into History, Geography and Civics, and a third language arrives. The task changes too — from knowing a fact to explaining why it is true.

Subjects split
Science becomes Physics, Chemistry and Biology. Social Science becomes History, Geography, Civics and the beginnings of Economics. Each has its own teacher and its own way of being examined.
A third language
Sanskrit is compulsory for all students in Classes VI to VIII. There is no opt-out — CBSE requires a third language at this stage.
Projects alongside examinations
Assessment combines project work, classwork and presentations with term examinations, following the CBSE framework.
