A school is built twice — once in brick, and once in habit. The second takes longer.

When we began in 1991, there was very little to show anyone. A few rooms, furniture that had been used before us, and a line of parents willing to trust a school that had not yet proved a single thing. I have never forgotten that they took the risk first. Everything since has been an attempt to be worth it.

A school gets built twice. Once in brick, which is the easier part — classrooms that face the right way, a laboratory with gas and water where it should be, a library that grows a shelf at a time, courts, a hall for music and dance. And once in habit, which is harder: the gate opening on time every morning, a register kept honestly, a rupee accounted for, a repair made before it becomes a problem.

My work is the second kind of building. Fees set fairly and explained in plain words, so that no family is surprised by a figure they did not expect. A campus that is clean, safe and maintained. A society behind the school that keeps its word.

I am not an educator by training, and I have never pretended to be one. The teaching belongs to the Principal and the faculty, and I stay out of it. What I can promise is narrower and more literal: the school will be open when it says it will be open, the money you pay will be spent on your child's education and nothing else, and when something goes wrong you will be told about it plainly rather than discovering it later.

That is the whole of my message. The rest of this website will tell you what we teach and how. This page is only to say who keeps the doors open.
