Music & Dance

Music and dance, through the year

Music and dance are part of the school week, not only the annual function. Students learn to sing, play and dance as a regular activity, and perform at assemblies, the annual function and inter-house competitions.

01

Vocal music

Classical and contemporary singing, with the chance to sing in the choir or solo at an assembly or the annual function.

02

Instrumental music

Instruction across a range of instruments, building the musical literacy that lets a student keep playing after school.

03

Classical dance

Indian classical forms — the movement and the meaning behind it, taught properly rather than as steps to copy.

04

Folk and contemporary

Dances from different regions of India, alongside modern styles that build agility, creativity and stage presence.

05

Choreography and performance

Students help create the routines they perform, at assemblies, the annual function and inter-house competitions.

The school provides basic instruments and practice space. Students who want to pursue an instrument seriously are encouraged to bring their own — no prior training is needed to join.
