Primary School
Stage 2Classes I to V
Learning to read, write and think
Classes I to V are where a child learns to read properly, write clearly and work with numbers — and where they either form the habit of liking school or lose it. Our primary section is built to make sure it is the first of those.

Two years of foundations, three of building
Classes I and II concentrate on reading, writing and number sense. From Class III the same subjects deepen and Science and Social Science arrive as separate subjects.
Assessment without ranking
Progress is tracked through classwork, periodic checks and projects rather than one examination at the end. Children are not ranked against each other at this age, and no child is labelled a failure at eight.
Every subject, for everyone
There are no electives in the primary years. Every child studies the full list below — languages, mathematics, science, social science, computers, art and physical education.
